More photos from last weekend

Here are the non-duck photos from last weekend. I'd like to get out today to get some more photos, but it just got cloudy and now I have to run back into lab.

We saw a whole bunch of Red-Winged Blackbirds (these are males staking out their territory)





Tons of Painted turtles out getting some sun (check out the vivid orange undershell!)



And were lucky enough to see a Pileated Woodpecker!




In other news, I watched the first episodes of Life on Mars and Veronica Mars (Mars run,
heh). Both look like series worth continuing. VM in particular reminds me of the movie Brick, with their hip gumshoe high schoolers solving crimes. VM also reminded me to finally watch My So-Called Life - I really need to watch the whole series.
